There are many myths or for lack of a better word accusations which continue to be associated with "Gen Y" in the work force and their apparent disregard for "good old fashion values" and loyalty. The media seem intent on painting an incredibly dark and iat times disreptecful picture about what employers can expect from their "Gen Y" employees.

Chris Tan Consulting is committed to providing both Engineers and Employers of Engineers with up to date, honest and relevant information that is aimed at assiting employers not just in attracting quality staff to their organisation but more importantly in retaining the quality which they may already posses.Engineers may utilise and interpret the the information in a variety of ways, however above all else it should have them thinking about their careers and ensuring that their longer term best interests and aspirations are being facilitated.

In June of 2007 Chris Tan Consulting in collaboration with recent Engineering Graduates and Employers of such Engineers designed and distributed a Survey to all 2004 and 2005 Graduates from Adelaide Universities Civil, Structural and Environmental Course.
In total 107 Survey's were distributed and close to 50% were returned, this allowed a thorough understanding to obtained across many key interest areas, all of which has been recorded and illustrated in the below links.

Since collating the data CTC have distributed the results to the vast majority of Adelaide based Engineering companies, the circulation has included Operators, Utilities, Consultancies, Contractors and Developers across all industry sectors and it is hoped that these results will illustrate some key areas for organisations which will hopefully compliment their current recruitment and retention straegies, thus ensuring they experience and enjoy a prosperous future both within South Australia and further abroad.
