Assistant Development Manager

Assistant Development Manager

The Company

This is an excellent opportunity to gain some experience for a privately owned property development group based in the east of Adelaide, who specialise in residential land divisions. For two decades they have been creating carefully designed residential communities, offering project management services. They have specialist expertise in urban planning & design, marketing and project management. Their strengths have been derived from their capacity to comprehensively manage a series of projects from initial concept to final completion and plan to continue their success, through their increasingly repeat-customer base, for many more decades to come.

The role

Reporting to and being mentored by one of the most experienced property developers, you’ll be able to gain hands-on site experience, sub-division design and general assistant duties to the senior development manager for around 6-9 months, at least initially, as this job is covering a maternity leave placement and could evolve into a permanent opportunity.  As with many ADM roles, you’ll play a hand in a range of tasks supporting the Project Director for a few greenfield projects including a new Masterplanned community of 30-40 homes in the Hills which is currently approaching the civil engineering phase.

Skills & Experience

As the main project is close to the civil engineering stage, the ideal person would either have a degree in civil engineering, construction or project management or similar related field to residential property development that involves procurement of contracts, organising contractors and managing projects through civil construction.  Demonstrated understanding of (or at least some experience in the overseeing of) factors including drainage, roads, curbs, underground infrastructure installation, landscaping, fencing and associated procurement to specialists in these fields. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role aswell as an understanding of civil construction requirements in SA.
