This job represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Urban Designer to work with this small team and develop your career in Urban Design. This team are independent in their thinking and have built a reputation for creative solutions.  That’s one reason why they are regularly engaged on significant and complex urban design projects.  For nearly 30 years this multi-disciplinary team have consistently been recognised by winning over 50 awards at both state and national level.
  
The Role
As one of two Urban Designers (the other being the Principal) you’ll develop your experience across all stages of a major project which they’ve recently been appointed on and will offer interesting work over the next few years.  You’ll help prepare master plans, urban design frameworks, concept designs and provide design advice.  Your projects will be diverse and include town centres and main streets, large-scale masterplans for mixed-use developments, policy and guidelines and a range of smaller projects.
  
About you
  • Be able to demonstrate a passion for great urban design outcomes through past experience in Australia or a similar jurisdiction
  • Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills
  • Postgraduate qualifications in urban design preferred, with a background in a related discipline such as urban planning, architecture or landscape architecture
  • You’ll be a strategic thinker with an ability to deliver on detail
  • Good understanding of fields such as urban development, sustainability, planning, landscape, transport planning, economics etc.
  • You’ll have a positive and dedicated approach
  • Basic proficiency across a Urban Design graphics including Adobe Creative Suite/AutoCAD/Sketchup/GIS &/or by hand.
  • Well organised and able to manage projects, working to deadlines
  • Enjoy a fun, collaborative environment with like-minded colleagues
